Cause I know pretty well what they're gonna tell me in 30 minutes.

Once I've shown them:

– How the piano keys are laid out

– How to name the notes

– Remember where to put their fingers

– Make ultra simple chords using white keys

– What is a chord even?!

– Exactly how they themselves can combine the chords into a unique and beautiful chord progression (EVERYONE succeeds at it!)

It took me years to realise (and accept to my proud jazz pianist self...) that "Bb13 b9 b5" doesn't necessarily sound more beautiful than "D minor".

A complicated rhythm isn't more powerful than a simple one.
